Art Deco Bouquet

It's been ages since I posted a flower update - I suppose because I don't really have the means to buy a lot of flowers at the moment and the garden is almost entirely bare now (apart from the last roses and amazingly the strawberry plants are still producing flowers and even little [greenish] fruit). But today my Mom brought me some beautiful pink and white gerbaras which I put in a vintage alabaster vase. I guess to be truly art deco they should have been lilies but the simple straight lines of the stems remind me of art deco ornaments.

I hope that today somebody gives you something that you really love - maybe a book that you always wanted to read, some chocolates, a kiss, wooly socks ...

Es ist jetzt schon eine kleine Ewigkeit her, dass ich das letzte Mal Blumenupdates gepostet habe. Im Augenblick bin ich etwas knapp bei Kasse, um selbst Blumen zu kaufen und der Garten ist jetzt fast völlig abgeräumt (abgesehen von den letzten vereinzelten Rosen und lustigerweise den Erdbeerpflanzen, die immer noch Blüten und [kleine grüne] Früchte nachschieben). Aber dann hat mir meine Ma heute ein paar wunderbare rosa-weiße Gerbara mitgebracht. Ich habe sie in eine von Oma ererbte Alabastervase gestellt und sie erinnern mich total an Jugendstilornamentik, auch wenn Lilien wahrscheinlich stilreiner wären :)

Ich hoffe, dass Ihr heute etwas besonders Schönes bekommt - vielleicht ein Buch, das Ihr schon immer mal lesen wolltet, feine Schokolade, ein Kuss, kuschelige Wollsocken ...
